Moving Forward, Together!
If you’re new to this newsletter, welcome! We’re so glad to have you on #TeamWilliams and we have a lot to get started on.
The Team was busy all day at RiverFest on June 1st, where we hosted a volunteer training before setting out at the Festival. We signed up volunteers and met the residents of Cambridge and surrounding communities. It was a great reminder of what I love about Cambridge: its vibrant arts and cultural community.
Caribbean American Heritage Month
We have a lot going on! On Monday, June 10th, join us in celebrating Caribbean American Heritage Month at Lyrics and Lunch on the Lawn. The event starts at 12 pm on City Hall Lawn, 795 Massachusetts Avenue and will feature live music and food trucks. Find information about the event here. I’m a proud and active member of the Cambridge Caribbean community and I am so glad we can take this month to celebrate Caribbean American Heritage.
Help decide the Future of the First Street Garage
The third Community Meeting About the Future of the First Street Garage is happening Wednesday, June 19th. Find information about this event below. We’ll be there to listen to the city’s update and provide our input.
I had fun hanging out with Boston artist Ekua Holmes for the Community Art Center fundraiser Mural Masters last week. I am so proud of our young and aspiring Cambridge artists. They rocked!
Canvass with us!
Moving forward, we’ll be looking for more support, hosting more canvassing trainings and canvassing events. We’ll be hosting canvassing trainings on 6/12 and 6/13 at 5pm at 144A Mount Auburn Street, and one on Saturday 6/15 at 11:30am at WeWork Central Square. All of these canvassing trainings will be followed by two hours of canvassing afterward (6-8pm on 6/12 and 13, 1-3pm on 6/15). Feel free to come for as much or as little of these canvassing events as you’d like! If you have the time, feel free to also go out canvassing on your own if that interests you! Any and all levels of support are immensely appreciated. Please email email@example.com if you plan on attending!
To date, we have raised almost $10,000! This is an incredible feat and we couldn't do it without you. We need to keep this momentum going and raise more to keep the campaign running. Together we can make this an amazing campaign!
For anyone who hasn't donated yet, or anyone who would like to donate more, you can send a check made payable to The Williams Committee to 144A Mount Auburn Street, Suite E, Cambridge MA, 02138. If you prefer to donate online, you can visit our ActBlue so we can keep moving forward together. For anyone who’d like to volunteer, you can sign up at my site or email us.
Finally, Happy Pride Month! Unfortunately, my Team won’t be able to attend this year’s Pride celebrations, since we’ll be organizing SBN’s Hyper-Local Craft Brewfest, but we’ll be wishing a very hoppy and happy Pride month to the LGBTQ community from afar.
Let's make Cambridge a city for all!
